I've decided to sell my entire flock of American Buff Geese (I just have too much on my plate here.), which includes three females and three males. They are proven breeders (and still young-yearlings). One female is sitting on eggs right now. I also have 5 two month old unsexed goslings for $20 a piece (or less if you take them all). They are growing great on grass, I haven't fed them any grain in the last 3 weeks or more.
American Buff Geese are one of the most desirable breeds due to their noticeably docile behavior. They usually mind their own business (unlike other geese) and have very rarely 'attacked' me, only slightly during breeding season, and it was even laughable. If you are looking for an animal that grows fast and is cheap to raise (very little grain) for the future, these would rank high up on the list. Supposedly they taste better than turkey and are enormously easier to feed and care for. Before the rise of farmed turkey, most ate a Holiday Goose!
Take all 6 adults for $300 or one pair for $120.
Again, the 5 young goslings are $20 each or $85 for all.
$350 if you take ALL of the geese (adults and babies).
