I'm having trouble figuring out my buffs sex.. this one was always the smaller one and always hung out in the background while my other one was all up in my face lol my other one was also bigger but sadly passed away couple months ago from hardware disease.. we believed we had a male and female since they looked and sounded different... in the 2nd pic that is the goose in question

The picture with the two geese, that's a pair. The bird on the left is not an American Buff though. The bird on the right is the gander and is American Buff.

Yes I know the one on the left isnt a American buff we got a replacement for the one that we lost but unfortunately coyotes took that one out 😔 we had 2 and I thought the other one was a gander cause it was way larger than the one in the pic and had a thicker neck and would always be in front of the other one, here is a video of the goose in question.. here is 2 more pics.. we always thought this was a female so the other goose we got and he was supposed to be a gander and sounded just like her mate she lost.. she has a deep low honk and her mate had a more higher pitched voice

Videos will only post if you upload them to something like Youtube first.

So you had two geese and the assumed gander was taken by coyotes? Now you have the one you thought was a goose and a new bird that is definitely a goose? (Goose is female in this case as that's what females are called.)

New bird is almost certainly a goose. The remaining Buff appears to be a gander. It would be easier if I could see them in person. @Iain Utah might be able to help.
