Your rooster, without seeing hen appears crow winged brown-red. As a chick he was nearly brown. As I understand it, he is this birchen E^B which is a very strong promoter of dark coloration. I think that color-wise, at least 50% of the offspring will be dark. If he is homozygous for birchen, then all will be dark colored but not as dark as he is. Please show pictures of the chicks as they develop. The buff part is what I am not familiar with and it will impact appearance of chicks.
