American Gamefowl

Right. I wouldn't just do it willy nilly either . Especially if it's going to perpetuate false advertising. I would rather pure game over cross any day .
It also heavily degrades the birds valued.

I know some people that have done it before ,like the farmer I mentioned . He didn't want to spend the money on new genetics for his games so he made all kinds of crosses, and sold them as barn yard mixes. The most he got Out of a bird was $10 for a stag . I wouldn't do what he did but thats where I got my Silkie cross from. View attachment 2119679. She's a funny looking chicken.

Possum.

I'm only guessing off of what I have been repeatedly catching in my live trap .

Although what else would I expect to catch in a live trap.

Keep us updated on what they look like. I'm curious to see how they turn out .
I'm not fond of crosses all that much myself because you end up with a mix of two different purpose birds, but it always interests me to see what they Might make.
I don’t think crosses are an issue at all. Crossing gamefowl with layers and silkies is kinda ridiculous though. It’s kinda like driving a fast car but never getting past 2nd gear. Kinda pointless unless you’re just harvesting them for food.

I'm sorry.....
but that's one ugly bird. Lol.

Uglier then a crow :gig

She would be screaming at us right now .

Seriously though she does this annoying whine when she's unhappy. Lol

I will give her this though, she's been through a lot.

the farmer accidentally broke her leg .then she was hit by a car going at least 40 mph rendering her flight less. I have no clue how she survived I thought she was toast. I was going to put her down but I never found the time. ( I'm lazy) and later that year she escaped from her pen and had her crop ripped in half by some sort predator. Explains the lump on the front of her.

Pretty sad story for a chicken.

To be fair I don't think silkies are very cute anyway 💁

Looks good man. Instead of buying straw try grass clippings or leaves. I like leaves in some of my pens
There’s a straw shortage here right now lol. I’ve got sand in the bottoms of the new pen haven’t put birds in it yet though I have enough straw to fill it up. Gotta fix the dividers tomorrow. I thought hard on it when I done it but talked myself out of it then when I painted it today it hit me again should’ve done it right the first time around. Oh well

Nice little pen setup though just needs a little adding on to. Which is no big deal, but I also wouldn't feel safe with gamefowl that close together sounds like you'll get it straightened out.

Sand works drains pretty well I've got it in my barrels for cords, straw, horse manure mix, etc etc like Billy said even leaves and grass will do just fine. It's all in what ya wanna do theirs guys that use other stuff too.
