American Gamefowl

Main thing is keep your roosters separate from each other as when they start up they will kill each other. You can free range them but once they start that’s it. Hens can be kept together if raised from chicks together. Keep them in good sized pens and you can keep several hens to one cock. there are a lot of junk out there so be careful. If your going to raise them in numbers I hope your out in the country on some acreage or your neighbors won’t be to happy.
Thanks for the tips.
Yes, I do my best to keep roosters apart :)

So far I'm still in the country, but you never know what the future holds.

Everyone in this thread is aware of how to keep gamefowl. I think your painting with a broad brush because of the guy keeping his birds on wire floor cages. As I said I mentioned that a few times in the past and quite honestly someone else’s birds and the way they do things are none of our business. Aside from suggestions there’s not much more anyone can do if they don’t take the advice.
I'm aware because you and the other guys have taken the time to help me. I make mistakes, but that's on me:)

What crawled up in your craw. I’m just giving sound advice from my 35 yrs experience with gamefowl. I was helping Wyorp Rock as he’s new to gamefowl. This is the USA if you don’t like what I have to say that’s your right but don’t disrespect me or anyone else Because you don’t agree.

No they don’t live that long although I’ve heard stories. No I mean I’ve been into gamefowl for 35 yrs lol

oh I see ... you were handing out advice so I thought I was gonna get some wisdom from you on getting my favorite hen to live until I was sleeping with my teeth in a jar next to the bed... oh well

Your barking up the wrong tree take your 35 yrs straight back to one of the oriental threads. That he is a she and yes she’s new but has been given all the advice needed before she received any birds.

It’s not unheard of for different breeds to live well into there teens. some Of the bigger breeds have shorter lifespan. If your able to free range they will be healthier then pen raised. Good feed and clean fresh water everyday.....
