American Gamefowl

As for the 3rd hen, she is still in the dog crate in the barn. No chicks yet. I'm still trying to decide if I should even try to put her in the coop with the others or just use those cow panels and build her a temporary coop.... How long would she need to stay in the temporary coop with her chicks?
Personally, I would go with making a temporary coop.

It would be really hard to say how long she needs to stay in the temp coop with the chicks. You would want them feathered out for sure. Both my broodies starting leaving/distancing themselves from their chicks at around 5wks this year. Last year it was around 8(ish) weeks.

Everyone has fox issues huh. For the record my fox was humanely shot on sight and was a bang flop. I didn’t choke the life out of it. 😂

Yeah buddies idc who ya are or where you are bound to need to trap. Haha neither did I the good ol .22.... he got 3 free rangers before I finally trapped him he slipped the knot just barely once before.

I lost a few too. They were extras I wasn’t breeding anyway but I still ain’t running a buffet. The shotgun loaded with a 3 inch #4 buck shell did the trick. Ain’t so gentle on the fur though. Shattered both back legs and blew a 3 inch wide hole in her. Tail was still good for tying flies though.

Same here. And this ones fur wasn’t good in general I didn’t see it worth while to skin, I did chop the tail off.

Nah anything past mid January starts getting rubbed around here and isn’t worth skinning. I prefer not to kill them outside of the prime fur period but whatever. I’ll twist up a few flies with that tail fur so all is not lost.
