We used to have that Johnny Horton album in vinyl when I was a kid... brings back memories...

Also the James McMurtry song, made me think of Joe Ely because he plays on that version... which reminded me of this song, which Joe Ely covers, but Tom Russel wrote... so here’s a Tom Russel version ... anyway it’s Gamefowl related...

It is just a great song... I kinda forget it and rediscover it from time to time.

That little fella does take a nice picture... but I’d be afraid he’d corner me and peck a big bruise on me

Nope not rumpless, I forgot to shake the eggs before I put em under the broody... maybe next time, lol

He’s Salmon Faverolles x Splash Ameraucana.... I wasn’t too impressed with his poppa and his biological momma gets on my nerves... though she’s doing a good job raising ducklings right now... so we’ll see how he turns out.... likely to be dinner come spring though

He’s a helluva trapping buddy, don’t say much, eats less than a dog and loves to snuggle. Crazy bird follows me into the woods to check traps. Not trying to sway you either way.
