As I was doing the same boring chore for 3 hours tonight, I was thinking about cock bite guy and this site in general ...

...and it occurred to me that if folks just focused more on being themselves and being better versions of themselves, rather than regurgitating other peoples thoughts and trying to pretend they know more, have done more, etc...

... if they were just themselves, they’d likely be very likable I’m sure... but as is they want to “teach” others and tell them how to think and behave

That is very true. People have a need on here to impress others with their knowledge. It’s comical but kinda sad at the same time.

I think it’s probably better to just let them go on making fools of themselves. Anyone with half a brain can see through the BS.
They probably need that little boost of self esteem. Who am I to take it away from them.

That is very true. People have a need on here to impress others with their knowledge. It’s comical but kinda sad at the same time.

Well here’s the other part of this that I was thinking about...

I have some bees... everybody and his nephew is a beekeeper these days ...

But I ran across a name on a beekeeper forum recently that I recognized from this site... let’s just pretend that the name was ‘maggotwrangler69’

Anyway these posts were from 2014 -15 or so... and I didn’t spend much time reading... but there was a fella that took maggotwrangler69 to task for claiming to have 30 yrs of beekeeping knowledge and asking glaringly obvious first year questions...

Which again makes me think why? Why not just be what you are and who you are?

Doing less than that impresses idiots only and folks with experience see right through it... as did the bee folks on that site...

I swear the number of people that are full of it is unreal.
I’ve been tying flies for like 16-17 yrs or so and I’m still not all that great at using deer hair. I’ve seen guys that have only been doing it like 5-6 that are better than me. Pisses me off but I wouldn’t pretend to be better just for giggles. It’s best to be who you are imo.
