I love the explanation though.

How are they going to make sure people aren’t still trapping without spending money?

They already do.. I see many lost pet posts in facebook.. cats and toy dogs never get reunited.

The problem is loss of habitat. This law is just a feel good measure. There was only a few trappers left and they weren’t trapping in the neighborhoods where the coyotes are causing problems anyway.
They weren’t able to use many kinds of traps anyway.
All these crackpots that want to save the animals should stop cranking out kids. Those kids will grow up and take up even more wildlife habitat with more subdivisions. Clueless basket cases.

ya. It would different 1000 years ago when animals out numbered humans and humans needed to survive, but now-a-days I dont think its right.
