I guess I did know martiini made anything other than fillet knives...

I just had a glance at their website... they have nice looking stuff
They made the filet knives that were sold by rapala. Now rapala owns martiini. They’re still made in Finland near the arctic circle though. The blade is a carbon steel and it’s heat treated pretty soft for ease of sharpening. Similar to Condor Tool and Knife.

I meant to say ‘didn’t’ know they made ...

I inherited at least three of their cheap fillet knives ... all with blades in various abused states ... one with a bent tip...

One of these days I might try to put an edge back on them...

One has a different sheath though, I wonder if it was pre-rapala ?

Could be. They exported knives to the US before making them for Rapala.
There’s a few brands of knives still being made in Finland that are still good quality and arent too expensive. Wood Jewel, Ahti are two of them. If you look and see Kellam knives for sale they’re rebranded Ahti knives with a little bit better fit and finish. If that’s something you want.

$46 is not a lot for knife anymore.
Probably not. I don't know how old those Lansky knives are that I have, but likely been around here for a while, probably cost about $3.99 back then :D
Oh no! Nope, noooooo! Milwaukee would be better.
HD has them for $19.98! I had been eyeballing that "extra" knife on the work van last year, but...usually you leave that stuff alone too. Well, I was out of scapels and needed to necropsy a laying hen. After doing that, I was told I could just keep that extra utility knife :gig
