Yeah that makes sense. I have some oaks but mostly maple and poplar. Then again if I lived in the woods I wouldn’t want a lawn period.I don’t rake them I just mulch them with the mower...
I live in the timber with mostly oak and hickory... the oak leaves don’t break down the same as say maple leaves ...
so you pretty much have to get them up or they will choke out the grass, not to mention they encourage the voles to move in, which brings in the copper headed snakes come spring...
... also we have something called fungus gnats ( aka dog pecker gnats) that breed in decaying leaves... they’re bad enough with all the woods we have, but if I weren’t to get the leaves up I think they’d carry us off
Yep I remember lolYou recall when the crazy lady racked them into the damn driveway and was burning them? I'm pretty sure I sent you a picture lol did 0 good. But I cleaned the ditch out pretty well when we got that 2ft in the gold truck lmao.

That’s awesome. I had some teenager driving on my front yard for a few years. Right at the edge. Man I wish I could have caught him. I would have done donuts on his parents front yard and tore it all to hell and back. I guess he grew up since I haven’t had an issue in years.A long time ago my neighbor would blow all his leaves to the ditch then when the weather was right he’d burn them...
Well somebody kept driving through them scattering them all over... so he put some concrete blocks in the pile, and quickly found out the teenager down the street was the culprit![]()

I wish I could give you my whole lawn. Good god I get tired of mowing and running over potatoes and raccoon traps.I hear ya, my house is on top of the “mountain” so our ground is so rocky and poor it’s hard to have anything grow... it’s more about minimizing erosion and feeding the deer than having a lawn... I hadn’t mowed since early September, and only mowed maybe six times this summer... but I am trying to get something of a lawn right up next to the house ( about 30’ x 50’)
