American Gamefowl

This DMM pullet was done at 12days had I not caught her in the acts she would have killed them all. Age has a lot to do with it so I'll give her another chance next season.
All the free range hens here don't seem to mind the chicks much they get a peck here and there occasionally when one try to buck up. Last year I had a hen kill two of her own pullets she had started laying again but covering the eggs with straw scratching.

Actually had two momma's get into it early today still pecking each other an totally exhausted but no quit both are just peachy this evening.

Vultures have just made themselves at home around here. They know where to find a meal. LolDrinking out of the ducks bowl.

That’s one of my favorite long call lures...

... and that’s what the inside of my truck topper smells like in December... and probably lingers a bit till February lol

I had to store some of it in my basement once and I put it in 2 ziplocks, inside a plastic coffee can, inside a cat litter bucket and you could still pick it up!

I keep it in my pocket. I don’t really like talking to people anyway.

Open it up buddy. Take a good whiff.

I actually kinda get to liking it after I’ve made a few sets with it each year.

But I absolutely have to take a big loooong hit of castor anytime I’m using it... just something about it that I love.

Synthetic tonquin is a favorite too, but I never catch using it, so I don’t buy it anymore.

And I will add to this she is my youngest momma and after I pulled her and penned her separately she was calling them for days and still does when she sees them out for now.

The rest of the momma's this year are outstanding thus far both the white hen and her daughter. The black from havoc is awesome she has ran off the goats and did it again not an hour ago I truly believe she would fight a bear to protect her biddies. So really only one hiccup out of these mommas isn't too bad it could always be worse.
