That last hen that showed up with 11 chicks is actually sleeping in the woods on the ground with them. She’s at least 30 yds in. Talk about gambling. She must be a little more confident in me than I am.You’re looking at it all wrong...
From what I can see a coon will take an average of 5 birds before the chicken keeper takes action, so 30 coons x 5 birds = 150 birds for the coons...
then factor in an extra 15% in case one fox shows up, so now we’re at 180 birds to feed the critters...
add to that the 10 hens that we were trying to keep in the first place so we could have some eggs... and that comes to 190
So we’re able to keep it under 200, that’s pretty good huh?
Or I guess you could just set a trap![]()

I guess I’ll set another dozen!
