Not trying to put you off by any means heck it took me along while to even get worthwhile gamefowl because of peddlers and junk sometimes it's best to wait.

So do I but gamefowl is a lot of work and very expensive to raise. The amount of time involved is bordering on ridiculous. One mistake and you have dead birds. It’s not the same as your hen tapping the wire at another hen.I like chickens.

I have a hen in my shed still because another hen damn near killed her. The hen with chicks is the one that started it and the other hen is the one that came out much better off. It’s not cool, or tough or any of those things. The amount of work far outweighs most benefits for most.
I think you need to really look deep into gamefowl a little more and see the differences.
I really appreciate the information guys. I’m sure there are some out there who would have sold me the Gamefowl to make a quick buck. Not trying to put you off by any means heck it took me along while to even get worthwhile gamefowl because of peddlers and junk sometimes it's best to wait.
I recall you treating a bird for some kind of crazy disease it should have been culled for. There’s a big difference in “pets” and “gamefowl” You start treating instead of killing the weak and your just asking for problems. IMO If your contemplating taking your chicken to the vet gamefowl aren’t for you. Most issues can be resolved at home by the owner with a few things. Otherwise they should be put down for the benefit of the flock.I’m not looking for accolades or a shiny star. I do like to think that I care very much for my pets. I’ve been out in the pouring rain getting a pullet out of a tree. I don’t use chicken wire and if my chickens are out foraging I’m out watching them or inside ready to run out if I hear something. I mean my chickens are my pets and even if I looked at them as livestock I still have a responsibility to keep them healthy and safe.
