My birds have thighs something that is felt rather than seen, I don't need a whole lot of shank to accomplish anything.

Any pullets or hens I don’t pen do free range year round. I still have quite a few hens in pens in pairs with roosters though. I will cull all defects and turn loose any I don’t want to pen but are still decent birds.
It costs quite a bit of money to raise gamefowl and I’m not running a charity.

Have the little guys tried to mate your free ranging game hens or do they get whooped by them?
If a raccoon can get to the nest it’s probably that. Most times they’d rather have the eggs especially if they can get the chicken/duck to get up. During the day though seems a little strange but I have seen with my own eyes a raccoon during broad daylight trying to get a guinea hen off her eggs. She wouldn’t budge and was screaming. The raccoon kept pawing at her and wouldn’t leave even when I showed up with a gun. She was on the edge of the woods though.Something has taken all of my broody ducks eggs between Thursday and today. I didn't know they were missing until yesterday. . there was only two left out of 6 or 8 Now there is only 1 and there was evidence this time. Is it possible that maybe a crow is stealing the eggs?Something has taken all of my broody ducks eggs between Thursday and today. No all the hens I currently have out have chicks. They’ve went after a couple of the others. There’re pretty little and miss the mark from what I could tell. LolHave the little guys tried to mate your free ranging game hens or do they get whooped by them?
