American Gamefowl

I manage our property to help quail and turkey populations that suffer from a high population of nest robbing fur-bearers... I do that by trapping... there is no other legal method that is effective...

I’m not coming anywhere near wiping out populations... but it can make a huge difference in the number of quail and turkey young that survive their first year...

I’m curious, do you think this management tool that helps support my wild fowl populations is wrong as well?
:pop:pop
And I don't mean that in a sarcastic way . .
I truly am curious as to how people go about formulating their negative opinions against trapping or hunting etc.
It is interesting to me.

No but I do go hiking and backpacking.. and pay to do that. I also have ducks and storks living in my creek which I maintain myself for mutual benefit.
I hike, camp, backpack, hunt, fish and trap. I can assure you I’m annoyed when I see trees being cut down for another useless office park or shopping center that will be empty in 10 yrs.
The little “greenway” buffers many locations require now just add to the wildlife issues after they crowd themselves out of whats left.
You’re out of your mind if you don’t realize that most outdoorsmen live for hunting, trapping and fishing. They are mostly a wealth of knowledge with just about anything outdoors. Everything from where to locate certain animals, what they eat, how to conserve etc...
Of course even I complain about the idiots but you’re going to have them with any activity.
The average hippy hiker doesn’t have a clue past their fancy gear and granola bars. It’s all done now to be able to post a picture on the internet. Nowhere close to any kind of lifestyle.

It's gonna come down to no live stock no farming without big money involved and the little guy taking the hit everytime you think it's got bad the last 30years just you wait with this way of thinking we will all become a prisoner in our on country, state, county and home then you'll wonder what happened. You'll know when it slaps your right in the mouth one thing taken away leads to thousands more.

Shubin you’re complaining about problems that will never be undone. At some point you should look to the future. I don’t see the Sabre tooth tiger coming back anytime soon.
On human population l actually agree. How many kids do you have?

Exactly right.

Whoa, now you have gone too far! I like granola bars, especially anything with dark chocolate. Okay, carry on...

no kidding. I believe in what you are saying.

Like you guys I appreciate agriculture, hunting and the natural world. We need to get back to small villages and tribes. Where family is the most important and small scale hunting, fishing and farming are ways of life.

Big cities and government controlling our lives is not natural or healthy.

I hate when they do that! I don’t need 3 Walmart’s within 10 minutes of my house. And why the hell do they always make the parking lots bigger than they need to be?
