American Gamefowl

From that point of view its a good thing. You are the alpha predator now like I mentioned above. You have taken on the role of what wolves, cougars and bears would have done.

Oh? Actually we have lots of coyotes and some bears and some mountain lions... they do little to keep raccoons, etc in check....

The problem with this move in CA is that it removed someone’s right to manage their property using an effective method...if they so chose...

And even though you might not care about trapping... they’ll come for something you do care about if you let them

no kidding. I believe in what you are saying.

Like you guys I appreciate agriculture, hunting and the natural world. We need to get back to small villages and tribes. Where family is the most important and small scale hunting, fishing and farming are ways of life.

Big cities and government controlling our lives is not natural or healthy.

I don't need a tribe I have my family and few friends just the way I like it. Had it not been for trapping and Havoc I wouldn't have a bird one period you may can afford to lose yours, but I can't. Starting over would cost me thousands because some things you just can't buy back.

I saw the article headline this morning, but didn't bother to read it... Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't most trapping for smaller animals? Like it or not, we have unhinged the ecosystem, so it is hard to step away now and say they will work it out.

Thats what a tribe is, family and friends who share their livestock and hunt/farm together.

This is my last comment on the subject as I am going home for the day,
But coyotes here are keeping raccoons in check. We have more coyotes than coons and the bird populations are thriving.

I dont like unnecessary laws as much as anyone on here. I think a person should be able to defend his property, but not trapping out in the woods around your property. I know sometimes you may need to go on offensive to be defended so I see your point...

I think I am more sensitive to it because we have so little nature left around my house that I'd prefer not see any wild animal dead. I'd rather see some of the tweakers dead. We have plenty of dirt bags that need to go, thats more of threat to me than anything in wild.
