I prefer cooking over actual wood though. Then again I’m usually only fixin wieners so it’s kind of a production for 2 hot dogs. That’s where my little camp stove comes in.

The two best smells in the world are pine and wood smoke. Followed closely by brownies baking.When I was a kid we had lots of kilns still...
when they were cooking thaw air smelled like a fireplace for weeks...
Probably not the healthiest thing...
The old ones got shut down in the late 90s...

I get looked at awfully strange sometimes when I buy the big bag or royal oak charcoal and damn near melt my grill to fix 1 or 2 duck breasts wrapped in bacon.

Most of it comes from South America now. It’s the stumps from long leaf pine trees. Once cut the stumps are loaded with resin. Then it’s all split up as fire starter.
