Dry they eat everything just fine. I like most up the corn during winter. I can not get the scratch 5 grain SS offers here because it's not sold much if at all I'd have to buy it by the pallet and that's just not sense able. Before adding anything I fed it for along time just pellets and never had a problem. I really didn't need to add anything to it I just did. I add about 50lbs of corn and oats to 150lbs of pellets and like I said depending I can up or take away with no issues. Havoc turned me on to the feed and I couldn't ask for more.

No that's 50lbs between the two right now. So 150lbs of pellets and 50lbs of other grains added on top equaling 200lbs total.

Thanks, SOHC, nice mix. I think it's about 17.5%, and I used to like that protein percent this time of year, getting through and over molt. For basic maintenance I liked 14%. And I ran it up to about 18% during breeding.

My take on it is you could feed layer with a lower % calcium as even SS layer feed has some decent stuff. Good clean water handling your birds often and great care you'd still be fine as it's more the blood an birds themselves than the food chickens can only regulate so much and really out of everything I've read ain't no one can agree 100%.

Good birds and husbandry go the furthest in my little minds opinion.

These boys can probably talk more book and science stuff than I can about feed, I just go by common sense and sometimes mine ain't the best. What works for me here may not work for someone else.

A lawn has a hard time growing with soil that is too acidic... the little fine root hairs for grass gets ‘burnt’ by the acidic soil, and the grass can’t get the nutrients it needs to be healthy...

In my case that means adding lime to sweeten the soil to get anything to grow...

Oh I get way more boiled up over the trash. It ain't just trash. . it's all kinds of nasty stuff. This guys dad works on the trash truck and gets anything out of the trash he thinks the kid can scrap or do something with. Lots of burning plastics .. Maybe wires trying to get copper out of them? I don't know.

I don't think he ever got water turned on over there either so if his fires ever get out of control we are all screwed! Don't think he's got heat either. Maybe he burns stuff to stay warm.

I ain't gonna laugh they may have to burn for heat not everyone can afford what others can and deal with it their own way. I'd sure hate to be that bad off but it could happen.

Now the stalking well I'd ask em what the problem was lol.
