I didn't say it was a good idea. .. Just that it seems like it. In a high crime area it seems like it might be worth the risk to be able to catch criminals without putting law enforcement lives at risk doing it.
I can see how it sounds like a brilliant plan.
But it probably isn't in the long run.

I would question how far it will end up going and what else they are doing without telling us. We're going to end up with some kind of big brother all seeing eye in the sky spying on everyone most likely.

You as a nobody would never know what they’re actually doing with it. They already said in the article police wouldn’t even have access to live feeds. That pretty much already acknowledges a privacy issue.
Once the data is in place and stored it wouldn’t take much for other agencies to get ahold of the information/video.
Better hope your neighbor isn’t doing anything illegal to be on the watch list cause they’ll have you too. Lol next thing you know you’ll be getting charged for discharging a firearm in city limits for shooting a squirrel with a BB gun.

The law needs to do ground work that's what the job calls for. I understand that they are and have lives too, but obviously they knew that they are to protect and serve and that means with their own lives. A lot of stuff can be resolved with face to face interactions better than from the air lol I'd just get more pissed if something was flying over my home.

Not to mention stuff get so hacked like that. And then they are up a creek and so are you, this stuff that you talk to and can turn stuff on and off at your home from work is also a bad idea.

Technology is ok when it works but far worse when it doesn't. It's best to never agree to anything that will invade privacy.

Got one of those for Christmas one year. Yep that went back. No way I’m putting anything like that in my house. Or the google or amazon cameras. Dogs and guns work just fine. I could care less about deer in my yard. I ain’t putting cameras anywhere. They’ve been hacked already many times. People willingly put their information out there for the taking so freely. It’s absolutely amazing to me.
