American Gamefowl

Even my broody hens will come off eggs to get food/water and to take a dump. Depending on the rooster and his "sex drive" hell aggravated her cutting wing and topping multiple times and early on that can prolong them. If I see em trying to start to sit I'll pull the rooster and depending on the individual I'll do it at night because you surely don't want the hen getting startled and then them seeing you as a threat.... there goes all your handling.

Now yeah once they get to sitting even I can move a broody hen in a bucket or I've even just moved a "safer" pen and sit it right on top of em. We all do things a bit differently many ways to skin a cat just do what works for you.

They are growing fast! I'll probably get them outside sometime this week LOL

Yeah same here my grass seems like it grows two foot over night. I did manage to get the front yard done today before the rain hit but it’ll be grown up to my knees before I can cut it all again according to the forecast

ditto . Our house is placed right in the middle of abandoned agriculture land so as you can imagine lots of mowing. Some places of the yard I just brush hog once every three years to preserve it, prevent it from growing trees and brush 😆winter will knock down the grass . Although I don't recommend it, the grass looks like crap mid summer..

I’ve got chicks that hatched in my shed up on the loft. I just heard them cheeping a little while ago. No idea how many there are. Lol
I don’t have any plans to hatch chicks this year. I might do a few but I’ve got plenty of birds.
You can never have too many birds, lol. Wife says theirs gunna be a meat crises:rolleyes:... Game fowl aren't the biggest meal but I know a guy who eats 5week old chicks:gighe claims they are good for you, so who knows.
