American Gamefowl

He’s just been hanging around hasn’t messed with birds yet. The only birds loose is the black hen and biddies but they go back in there pen at night.
Years ago when I was having problems with red foxes I saw a gray fox cut the corner of my backyard. I ran to get the shotgun but I guess he heard me hit the steps to the deck and took off. He walked right by my pens and never even looked at the chickens. Fast forward a couple years and no more reds but now I’ve been dealing with grays. I’ve got baby rabbits in my yard and all. They will clearly bypass them and attempt to get the chickens.

A couple years ago I was dubbing roosters. I had a few out on cords and as it got dark I was pulling them in the shed one by one.
Well I’m in the shed and the last rooster was on a cord in the dark and a gray fox grabbed him and tried to run off. The cord saved him! Lol I was so close and I dove for his ass but just missed him.

That would be wild as hell for sure sounds like me going after a coon one night lol he kept knocking roost poles out and I finally caught home I had a pair of welding gloves on a latched onto him talk about a fuss lol

This one has been seen by everybody around here I’ve heard it stays in an old mine up my holler but idk how true it is. It’s been seen around our neighbors duck pond but hasn’t messed with anybody’s birds around here yet. Hopefully I can keep it that way only time will tell.
Nah you’d know it if he/she was actively after them. This time of year they will start hunting more with their pups.

Foxes are easier to handle live than raccoons. I’ve handled plenty of both. I was just so pissed I was gonna kill him with my bare hands. Lol

That’s what I wanted to do to the coon lol there rough as hell though
Man I was snaring foxes years ago and caught a big male raccoon on a crossing log. The fur was rubbed so I tried to let him go. Oh man I came within like a mm of losing a finger. Now if they aren’t in a cage and I’m letting them go I use a catch pole. Even then sometimes they come back towards ya a few feet.
