Only had about an hour. Missed a bass cause I was playing with my phone. I’m not sure what’s going on with the crappie in this lake. I haven’t caught one in awhile and neither has anybody else that I’ve talked to. Last year it had some sort of algae bloom so that may have made em all go tits up.

Looks like an hour well spent. Like I tell my kids heck and the wife it’s called fishing not catching... any catch is a one ya didn’t have before. Heck I’ve been skunked more times than I can count. Looks good out there is that grass or pads or both?

I don’t get skunked too often but it’s usually when I’m tossing big flies for bass or off the beach for stripers and bluefish. Even then 9 times out of 10 I’ve lost a good fish or two to my own stupidity. Lol. Thats lily pads and muck.
I’m mainly just testing flies to make sure they get enough bites and interest. Certain color combos and sizes can make all the difference. Also different size deer hair flies don’t always float right.

Perfect example. This fly might look ok but because of the way I shaped the head and the rest of the body on a light wire hook it lays slightly on its side in the water. That’s not what I was going for. Totally useless.
