Of course that wouldn’t be wise to shoot in an area like that. If they’re getting through a hole in the fence then the hole/gap should be fixed or better yet set a fox snare in the opening they’re squeezing through. There’s a lot of info on YouTube about fox snaring for beginners.I couldn't because there are houses not more than 100 ft behind where they came through the fence. I can't risk shooting into someone's house.
In the end free ranging birds is what I prefer when I can but you will lose some especially to foxes but losses are minimal if you’re proactive about it.
