American serama thread!

house chicken emma dust baths are outside under supervision and when time to play in dirt.... i dont wanna clean up the mess

My part time house chickens dust bathe outside where they spend the day, in a safe run.

If you have 24/7 house chickens you could make a play pen box with sand in it for dust bathing.

Yes we have 1 house serama. I was just curious what others do. I got a plastic tote that is big enough and added play sand. When Pierre wants a "bath" Ijust take the top off the "bath tub" and set Pierre in it. When he is done the lid goes back on.

go ahead and rub it in!!

Oh, my side of the mtns normally has a very nice warm summer...we have to worry about forest fires at times. In fact Rare Feather Farms (on the Washintonian site and others) lives only about 20 miles from me and 2 summers in a row she almost lost her home to forest fire. Very scary.

YOU GO PIERRE! I have large plastic bags that my horse shavings come in and I cut them open for an "overflow" catcher". Yer right Anna, Its amazing how much of a mess one teeny-tiny little birdie can make....... :P
But they have SO much fun doing it :P

I think he should just get a load of sand delivered into the middle of the living room and have all the neighbor birds over for a party!
