American serama thread!

Be careful a hen that size can crush serama chicks ! but she looks really sweet.

Awww how sweet!!!

She is quite a sweet thing, when ever I reach my hand in her pen she doesn't try to peck at me, she just gives a warning growl!

Yes, I may take the Serama chicks away if they hatch and rear them myself. I will let her have her Sussex chick, and I will also try and get her to adopt a lone Sussex chick I hatched out Tuesday (8/9).

I took a few new photo's the other day of my older chicks that are living in the big outside pen now. I thought I'd post comparison photo's to show the chick down and now the juvenile feathering

Well all you Serama-holics, I had an interesting & fun afternoon....A "Mom&Pop" fabric store that I frequent have been wanting to see seramas...SO today I brought Beeps & Little Ceasar to show them......Put both birdies in the car [no cage] and off we go. Get to the store and tuck both under my arm, go in the store and park em' on the glass counter. EVERYONE was fawning all over them and the 2 just stood there looking around! They got picked up and petted and all that good stuff. Never once did they get scared or try to fly away.

I LOVE MY SERAMAS!!

Here are a couple of my latest chocolate chicks hatched. I think I have 4 or 5 for sure now.

This one looks a whole lot like the first chocolate hatched. The lighting was poor so there was a lot of flash making it look lighter than it is.

This one is tiny and very dark. Obviously not black, I took this with the chick near a black chick to see the contrast. I hope it stays this dark.

This is an interesting chick. Very cinnamon colored, I expected it to feather out like the fawn silver looking pullet but seems to just keep getting darker
chick down....
