Hedwig is only taking care of one baby, nicknamed "Turbo" because of how stinkin' fast it is! and she's a very good mom. The little chick is two weeks old today.

I let Hedwig go outside for about 30 minutes each morning to scratch and dust bathe with Gordon. I put little "Turbo" in the brooder with a couple of Cara's chicks that I'm babysitting. He screams his tiny head off, but mom needs a break. Then she comes back in as happy as ever and takes care of her baby the rest of the day.

Hedwig didn't sit on the first 3 eggs, they were incubator hatched, so she's never taken care of those babies. Those are the ones the same age as Lulu. We've named two, Johnny and Carlos, but I haven't come up with a name for my little girl yet.

Speaking of eggs, you guys just reminded me to candle mind today, I have 8 eggs from my cocopop project under a broody hen. Aww, come on now.....ain't that what grandma is for ????

I'm Thinking a 23' long by 16' wide by 9' foot tall building this time. with heat and air. with pens,brooders,places for incubators. feed, ect. just add my chain link runs so they can stretch their legs. even thinking of running water to it. just got done looking and have an extra line under the house to run to it.
