American serama thread!

Ouch! That poor chicks rear does look pretty painful, hope it heals quick.
And I think you are right, you do have yourself a frizzle.

Yaaay, s/he is so cute and sweet!
After all these fun chick pictures I thought we needed a downer - jk!
But these pictures aren't the happiest. This egg is from the batch that froze in transit. I kept 4 in the bator that looked ok, two ended up veining, kept those two in the bator till 3 days after hatch due date and then I cracked 'em open!
So this one developed the most. When I cracked the top open where the air cell was the top of the squishy inner egg was almost black and felt sort of like leather. Then I popped that layer off and all the goo and the dead baby popped out. Any ideas why this guy stopped developing? Humidity and temp were kept consistent through out hatch after arriving at my place. I only candled twice but did turn by hand 3 times daily. (yes, I cracked it open with a pen lol)

..............

He definitely doesn't look like he developed all the way.

And for some happy pictures - I know these are NOT serama, but every night I pull in my driveway and my sleeping chickens poke their heads out of their crates and I just cant help but crack up so here's some fun

Crazy birds! I don't even know how they get up there! It's over 6 ft tall!
Love this picture, LOL.

Cluck-Cluck: Congrats on the Frizzle!!! Oh, to have a Frizzle...... but Gabrielle is sending me Frizzle eggs soon, so I too will be getting a Frizzle. The Joy!!!!

Yes those look like frizzle feathers to me.

Instead of the Vaseline maybe try some antibiotic cream(Neosporin) to help heal the ouchies. What about giving some yogurt to help get good probiotics into the digestive system?
Ok, I was worried about putting anything they might ingest, but vaseline I thought was benign... but something to help heal sounds good!

Here is a funny story! Yesterday I moved my chicks into the livingroom near my recliner to play with them a little. All day my 2 French Bulldogs just sat on the floor and watched the chicks. This morning my male Fenchie, Mr.Peanut, acted sick so I checked him to see if he had a fever and checked him all over for soreness and nothing. Then I brought the chicks down to the floor and its a miracle, Peanut is perky and playful! Here they are...

Where do you get the long crates like that? I have the regular ones that are square but would love to get the rectangle ones.
I wish I could help you! My MIL got them for me from her work. They always have a ton and she asked if I could have some.
here are some photos of some birds i am selling

These two are my favorite. Are you selling them at a show?
