American serama thread!

I have a flock of Mille Fleur D'Uccles with mine, and they are practically the same size. I love the booted legs too. I hatched out a few mixes, and they are adorable. I sold them though, so I only have one left (of the mix chix).
What are those? Isnt Mille Fleur a color? So D'Uccles is the breed?
I c an but ask. What state are you in?
I'm in AZ

Has anyone kept bantam cochins with their serama? Cochins are supposed to be really sweet right? I just don't want anyone to get overly beat up

I had my Frizzle Cochin Bantam pullet with my Serama. Flo never really targeted the Serama, however made sure she knew she was boss. Otherwise they were fine.

Just like any breeds, you can mix them, put have to go thru the getting to know you stuff. I have a game hen and roo with my seramas with no problems, BUT I spent alot of time watching them in the beginning and my birds do know what the word NO! means. [followed by a thump on the back of the head. I have a micro-ish sized serama hen that is a terror and lets NO one push her around. LOL

Little sweet boaz - he looks so innocent, he got out one day and chased a guinea off the porch- really amazing, these guys are clueless as to their size~

and you know what is strange- i don't think i'm imagining it, but your birds have a different personality that seramas from other breeders- Joe had a trusting loving personality, Boaz and Jet are the same way- other seramas i have are sweet as can be, but there is something i can't put my finger on about yours....

i spend alot of time with the chicks i've hatched, so i know its something other than handling- i am a sucker for all of them though
Yes, personalities are somewhat inherited....I don't handle or coddle my chicks at all (way too many). They're as wild as jack-rabbits until they reach a certain age, then they start developing personalities. I just do normal feeding and cleaning. At about 3 months, there are some that DEMAND attention...want to be held, want special attention, snuggle to your hand...I have to push them back to do my work. After a few generations it becomes ingrained. There are different personalities in different bloodlines. Some are more aggressive, some timid, some affectionate.

My seramas are the bullies. The little roos jump on my RIR and just ride them around. They also chase the giant Australorp roo. All my chickens have free range with very few squabbles, just posturing.
No kidding, I had a David and Golieth moment yesterday and just so happened to have my camera in my pocket so had to snap a pic. It just got warm enough to let them outside (we have hawks thus the cage) and my EE Teak-O happend upon a strange tiny beast with a fair maiden, he just had to have. Hew pick on someone your own size! UGH my little Seram, jack is not scared of ANYTHING

Dawned on me at that moment how tiny seramas truely are!
