American serama thread!

joe- i am afraid that they are rattle snakes because we have a ton out here. I haven't seen him, but I did have a bull snake earlier this year with two of my chicks in it. It was literally the day I put them out of the brooder into the grow out pen. My husband caught it and killed it and it did have two of my chicks in it. I guess I am going to have to be more dilligent and check the coop every 20 minutes until I catch the stupid thing. I am also going to have to get brave because I can't stand snakes!!

i saw a snake trap thread on here byc last week where someone used a pipe and a funnel but i cant remember exactly how it went.. snake goes in one end and cant get out. the pipe i think has to be as long as the snake, funnel in one end backwards... i will try to find it.

Good luck with the snake problem! We accidentally caught snakes on those sticky rat trap things. Line your chicken coop with em. We haven't bought those sticky traps because those seem so inhumane. The rats used to eat their feet trying to get free. Poor things!

Yeah. My husband would set them for mice and catch geckos. I would feel awful so I would spend hours freeing them. I am such an animal lover. I hate to kill anything, but if you mess with my birds, my animal loving is out the window!

I'm the same way! If they even attempt to kill the chickens, they are gone. Thankfully my coop is pretty predator proof.

I here ya memphis JUST DON'T MESS WITH THE BIRDS AND NOBODY DIES!!!!!
