Thank you! I have a hova bator, and great hatch rates doing what I do. Just wanted to make sure I was not missing something on these smaller eggs, LOL! In TX we are pretty hot, so it is easy to make it hotter in the bator but cooler, not so much

Will do what I always do and hope for the best

Question on incubating temps, I thought 99.5 was the perfect temp for incubating eggs.  I have seen others on this thread say they had perfect temps between 101 & 102, why higher than recommend? So far mine has had a low of 97.6 and high of 101.  I don't want to up it because I am worried about it going to hot and cooking them.  Am I doing it wrong for Seramas?

102 degrees is risky, but can cause eggs to hatch earlier which is awsome!

Prefer, healthy without feet issues over an earlier hatch! Already had to deal with that and it is so sad. Had high spikes, out of 36, 6 hatched, ALL 3 of the BOs had issues, not a single one is alive today.....3 Barnies all made it, but the one I still have is called "Shaggy" for a reason. The other 2 have new homes so not sure how they are doing.

Well the new Serama boys have been in with the "baby" birds for nearly a week now. The babies are all full size chickens except for a silkie and they range in age from 6-11 weeks I think. The youngest is just barely smaller than the smallest Serama boy.
I was wondering, do any of you have experience with multiple boys in a flock? I'm not sure these guys are totally mature yet but they al get along with each other so far. I put them up for sale just because now I have as many boys as I do girls, but if they stay so sweet and get along with everyone I really would like to keep them! I want to move the older of the "Baby" birds in the big coop with the other big girls soon but don't know if Hermanos - my EE roo - would take kindly to the little men in his territory.

If the three boys get along now, do you think they would continue to get along with other serama if I added more to them when I move the big girls out?
Pretty Boy was the head of that small flock and as long as you don't put in another top ranking roo they should get along. Pretty Boy was who Toy Boy went after. He must have known he would be a high ranking boy. Did you name anyone different yet?
The goslings are doing great. Cute picture of them in the puddle around the Christmas tree I was watering.

Ahh ok. Pretty boy is Caramel at the moment. Or whatever first pops into my head when I talk to him LOL. He isn't very people friendly, but that's ok, if I keep Toy Boy I won't keep Caramel. I only want two roos. Although I REALLY like the black silkie boy. He is my favorite of the boys.

Trina - my gosling - got her first car ride today. She went with me to the feed store riding in my purse to say hi to everyone. They were happy to see her doing well. Then she got to go to walgreens and about gave the cashier a heart attack when she jumped out of my purse to check her out!

Toy Boy is the one to keep. Along with sweet Holly Berry. Has Toy made up to you yet. He can be super sweet. He is so full of himself!

Should keep the silky roo also. Have a nice full line of silky type Seramas
More than anything I just want everyone to get along. I would like to be able to free range in the yard or in the house without major squabbles, and Toy and Taco would probably never get along =(
I definitely want to keep a silkie hen or roo, the black boy is my fav though. I haven't had the chance to spend much time with the ladies yet. They are all cooped up in their breeding teams - 3 girls for Taco and 3 for Toy. I don't know if I'll keep all the girls once they are all laying, probably Holly, Elena, the black one and which ever girl takes to me the best =) I've already got about 3 dozen eggs in the incubator including the ones I got from Bhep. I have a hatching addiction. I already need to give away 13 of the 16 babies I just hatched - though they aren't serama - and will probably have to just give away some of the serama babies!
