Thanks, I'm used to bantam cochins so that is something new for me. At what age can I expect to tell girls from boys with the seramas? I have ten serama chicks ranging from 2-3 weeks and hoping to just keep the pullets since I already have my resident serama roo.

You should be able to tell by now:D Look at comb and wattles for redness! the pullets comb shouldn't start turning red for about 2-3 months. Roos are 2-3 weeks! :p

I would keep ur own Roos! They will be much sweeter!

None of them are reddish looking yet. I will look for that though - sounds pretty similar to the cochins I'm familiar with. I really like our roo I got as a young adult, so I will probably be holding onto him and maybe one of these if there is one that really takes my heart. Right now the only adult seramas I have are these two, and Mocha my female only lays marble shaped eggs with no yolk. Hoping to get some gals from these chicks so I can make more on my own.

I am just in love with his coloring Scifisarah. Now, if I could just recreate and I would be set.

I know, I am ticked at Mocha for giving me all dud eggs, I really wanted some babies from him this Spring. I think that coloring would be gorgeous on regular/unfrizzled feathers especially. He certainly knows that Mocha is his - I saw him try to attack Orion my mottled cochin roo when he was mating with Mocha and Orion acted like he didn't even notice there was a little rooster on his back going bananas lol

i have a horrible habit of biting my nails. biting my nails is something i do in my unconscious, and i don't even notice I'm doing it until i look. i recently tried drinking orange blossom water, which is supposed to relax you. It worked! 3 shots of the stuff a day took care of it! i ha vent touched my nails in a week! and i am more relaxed! I'm wondering if pouring some orange blossom water in my chickens watering bowl will relax them more and the new hens i have will not run away from me? i am also hoping it helps them trust me? that stuff smells like heaven, but tastes like your grandma spraying her perfume in your mouth.

I'm also thinking this will help table top seramas pose better for the judges? what do you guys think?
