American serama thread!

I have 4 wheaton chicks Since the color is so different between male and female what should I be looking for to sex them as they grow?

If you look at kilnchicks post right above you: top pic, 2 girls / one boy bottom pic: two boyz / one girl and one BUTT! [can't see the face]

By 4 weeks the boys will start developing a red comb and the wattles will start to come in and be red as well...

SO, seramas are really EZE to sez at about 4 weeks old.....:thumbsup

well, if you consider them the way you would a parrot or finches- they do pay their way in enjoyment- yeah sounds hokey, but it is true, they are companion animals here

AND to add to what Artsy sez: These birds are ORNAMENTAL CHICKENS and were developed in Maylasia to be HOUSE PETS! That is their number one function....and in Maylasia they ARE the number one pet. They are sweet friendly engaging little dynamos, whats not to like? :love :yesss:

poor gizmo had a rough egg laying the other nite, gave her a warm bath and tums in the water - she snuggled in my lap, laid her egg, and went to sleep in my lap

and this is one of the new seramas, Cole, he will stay on top of the cage all day and supervise all the goings on---

My first Seramas. Active little things! almost as flighty as my quail.

hi Kilnchick...I'm in Long Beach and I am interested. PM me if you have a couple of chicks you want to sell. I'd love to get a trio of a roo and 2 pullets. They will be kept indoors.
