American serama thread!

I have a question, I recently ordered eggs, I have received half of them and for some reason they sent the others today, . My question is can I still put them in the incubator two days after the ones I already put in there.? Im really upset they sent them late, I was told that they would be sent to I the same time. And they are all serama eggs. This is my first time incubating eggs. So now im worried!

here is 1 pair This is General tso and no they do not live in there that was just to get them home, they have a nice house with hay on the floor for comfort my next question is how many eggs before a hen goes broody? and should i let her take care of them or put in a incubator?
What a handsome fellow he is!!! I just the regal names all you peeps give your seramas :yesss: As for hatching eggs, Depending on how much the hen can "pancake out" to sit on dem eggs, 5-7 is a good number. She will go broody when she wants to, there is nothing on gods green earth you can do to change that ;) and do let her raise them. It is a very rewarding experience for you and MAMA hen. Also, its a heck of alot easier than the incubator and brooder.

Mark the eggs as to the first set and the second, drop them all in and go for it.... Thats really was a naughty thing to send them separately, and I would tell the sender so and IF you get a crappy hatch because of this let them know. It is SO hard to hatch shipped serama eggs to begin with.... :/

Well you are probably right on that, it won't take too long once they figure out you are a good human and not out to hurt them....Sometimes, just leaving them be for a few days but coming by the cage and talking to them is all they need......

really, if they see you coming and going, then begin handling them through the day- its really exposure -

meet the newest little bit- had to help him hatch, and he is happily being raised by my silkie who is also raising a couple Jersey Giants- its so funny to watch- he will run up and stare in their faces like WOW! I want to be big like you
