American serama thread!

congratulations on the fuzzy butts. Jesse put my eggs in the mail today. with his incubator i have high hopes of a decent hatch .  I got 13 seramas yesterday mostly white but i have silkie and frizzled. too cute. long way off but i hope to be able to share eggs one day.

Congrats. I have 1 frizzle and hoping the 1 of ladycat's that just hatched turns out frizzled also. I'm looking forward to starting my silkied flock soon once ladycat and I are ready to swap some eggies ;)

Yep, you're first in line. And I'll probably have to send you at least 3 batches, because it looks like only 2 of my young silkies are girls. I sure have lots of boys, though.

And the good news is, one of my young frizzled pullets laid her first egg today. I will soon have lots of frizzles.

Woohoo for me and for you & your frizzled girlie. So exciting finding that first egg :)

Sorry for all the boys. A lot of my babies are turning out to be boys also.

Left 1 is booted and feather-legged and I think the right 1 is turning out to be silkied! Love this sweet pair!! Thanks, ladycat!!

hi! i'm new to sermas... I just got a show quaitily hen form OC Sermas! but I frogot to ask her is she malayian or american?

p.s can anyone answer this question/
How Do You Get A Serama Hen To Pose The Right Way With Out Holding Her?

i dont have them, but i have heard to never pet them on the back, rub up on the chest. also when in their cage put a border around the bottom where they need to stretch to see out . and i believe she is american?

I have a 2 year old Serama hen who shares a pen with her mate. She hatched chicks last year, but since then she has become hyper broody. When she is laying I remove the eggs every day. After laying around 10 eggs she goes broody and starts nesting without any eggs in the nest. I removed her privacy enclosure, but she just rakes up wood chips and nests there. This has been going on for about a month and a half. I don't know how to break her broodiness. Any help is appreciated.
