American serama thread!

Awww thank you, I just got him last week I think I got a great deal too. I got him and the frizzle for $25.
Should his tail be set higher? It doesn't bother me I was just comparing him to others I have seen and was wondering. He is also still young tho

Maybe I'm suffering from dementia. Pistachio is a hen not a rooster. Below is a serama rooster when he was three months old.

I would absolutely love to have a hen like that. At 4 1/2 months a serama rooster is fully developed.

No he is a roo, he has just now started to crow

Rooster. No sickle feathering. If you compare your first pictures with pictures of hens on the net you will understand my confusion. Being white, his rooster feathering does not show plainly in the first photos. At 4 1/2 months serama hens are mature and often have combs like in your first pictures. I am surprised that your rooster has not matured more as in the picture below. Keep n mind serama mature months before other breeds.

I guess he is just a little slower to mature. Hopefully he will start to man up soon. Lol! I will post more as he gets older!

Pistachio is a beautiful bird. Rooster or hen I still wish he were mine.

Not all serama mature early. One of my pullets did not start to lay until after she was 6 months old; by that time her sisters were caring for chicks,
