American serama thread!

Dang, still having trouble finding eggs or even the serama's here in north west Tn.  Either they are so popular or we're in a pocket of difficult to find birds.  Hubs and I decided on hatching a few serama's for pets after researching them.  I've hatched, raised and rehabbed several kinds of birds over the past 40 years but this little guys sure got our attention.  Where the heck were they 20 years ago.. Serama are a new breed developed in the last 50 years or so. I think that is what I read..or wait..where was I!  Loving the pics and stories about them...they remind me so much of a pet quail I had for 17 years.

They are great! I love them!
But if I am correct I think they just came to the US in 2001.and are still considered new to the US. Please correct me if I'm wrong

Awesome! Pics?

My newest chicks. Started with four eggs and all four hatched. Yes! Fertility seems to be improving. Next to hatch is next week end.

I love our little Serama hen Uma, they are one of the best breeds of birds in my opinion. She just started laying again after having a year of molting and stuff like that and then she went broody, and was a mean little viper, she just started up laying again. And it is so fun to see her little eggs against the big ones in the nest boxes.
