Gumbii, thanks for your response. I did not think anyone answered me and I know it was a bit of a dumb question for chicks that are so young as I do know that the Seramas can and do change so much but I thought since some of you had so many babies that you might recognize a pattern. Thanks again

Chicklette...the chipmunk chick on the left could be wheaten or partridge. My yellow chipmunk chicks seem to go in that direction. Not sure about the other one. Looking forward to seeing more pics as they grow.

Hatched three of the tiniest chicks this week. All three weighed in at .4 ounce. The last one that hatched today, my son's birthday, was barely .4 ounce. SO tiny and sweet.
Looks like I may have birds for sale as the weather cools down and my summer hatchlings grow up.

Thanks Caroline, I guess part of the draw with Seramas is to see the colors and how each individual turns out. I post more photos when they are older.Little surprise packages!

Like Christmas with every hatch...tiny little packages with a surprise inside!! I am interested to see how the chick on the right feathers out. They do change a lot!

The bird in Sigs book (page 91) is the same bird pictured above, in fact, 90% of the serama pictured in the book are mine. For everyone's information, I developed the blue and the barred/cockoo serama. Sorry, you won't find these at Grady's nor any other place for that matter.

Perhaps I can get some then when the weather is cooler.

Memphis, How about putting them in an open container so they get lots of air and put them in a safe place outside. A lot of the odor should disappear overnite and you can set them in the a.m.

A lot of the smell will be in the box and the wrappings and whatever they came in . Bag it up good and tight and get it out of the house and it should make some difference.

It was really bad!!! I left some bubble wrap on the counter and didn't see. I couldn't figure where the smell was coming from. YUCK. The eggs are already smelling better. I just hope they don't hatch with a smokers cough!!

I'm looking for a couple of new babies, black is my favorite color and I'd be thrilled if I could get a frizzled serama. Anyone? I'd prefer chicks as I haven't had any luck with hatching shipped eggs. (smooth feathered & colors other than black would be okay too.)
