I been busy trying to nurse a baby call duck. Poor thing has a major sinus infection. Hadn't a clue it was sick til I picked it up and saw half its face was swollen.

"Winston" is now on baytril and slathered in vetrx in his quarentine quarters. He has already stolen my fleece bathrobe, now working on my heart lol

Thank you Froggiesheins

I hope he does too, A friend of mine got them from a dog/cat rescue with 2 others, the 2 others didn't make it leaving this one all alone. She asked for my help and I went running to the rescue. We don't keep ducks here, tooo messy so he will be going back to my friend as soon as I am sure he will make it thru, right now he is aweful tiny and still fuzzy. Hatched out on july 14th I believe. 5.7 oz is far tooo small for a call duck this age IMO. I shall do my best and whatever will be will be.

Yes, definitely nice that he can do it. Just seems like we stay broke all the time!! Plus nothing ever gets done until there isNO choice but to do it but hey, at least he can fix lots of things!

OMG. I just killed another Freakin' snake. Can you believe it. It was in the process of swalling another chicken. When I screamed in ran...or tried to. I grabbed the only thing that I could a flat head shovel with a 3 foot handle. SERIOUSLY..why do we still have that shovel. Anyway it was ticked and trying to get me. I was afraid to let go because it would get away. I got it stuck with enough pressure to run and get the real shovel and I found the axe. I started chopping at it. This is the second snake in a week! Pictures to follow!!! I am still shaking, I was so scared. It had 3 feet of range..so it could have bite me and was really trying!!!

You are really freakin me out!! I think I was missing some eggs and all I could think of was your last snake! My coop is completely enclosed but I have been leaving the pop door open to the pen which even has the top closed in. No signs of anything else disturbed so I'm not really sure if I just lost count of the eggs I took out but I swear I had more under the broodies!

Here is the massive snake. It was so big. This was as big around as my wrists! If I am looking sweaty its because I was trapped in the coop for 15 minutes with a 6 ft long snake pinned under a 3 foot long shovel, trying to eat me!!!

AAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhh I second that last statement! You are one brave woman alright! I think i'd need to go change my shorts if I saw a snake that big in my coop!!! Yikes!!!
