what is a kraienkoppe? never heard of it

Big B you may have started something more " serama therapy chickens," - "reading with seramas" etc. kids are much more comfortable working around animals than people. Plus it helps socialize birds that don't get out of the farm much.

They are defined as Oriental Heritage breed pretty rare breed

Oh my poor babies! The majority of my serama live in a doghouse in the front yard. In order to feed them I have to move the house to open the pen and get their feed bowl and waterer. It was a very nice day, so they ventured out as they always do. They were taking their sweet time going back in, so I left their pen open while I fed the next 2 pens (in the same area of the yard), fully intending to close their pen when I was finished. These guys are small, and I've got a LOT of big yard birds as well as the guinea mafia. I just went out to close up the 2 pens that get let out each day, and my poor Serama pen was still open! I really hope they weren't terrorized by some jerk bird today! Poor babies!

Last year in Kindergarten, towards the end of the year, I brought in my daughter's OEGB rooster in for show and tell. The kids just LOVED him!! He strutted and crowed, and tolerated all the hands and cuddling. He is her favorite rooster, and her primary show bird for 4H. So sweet, and easy to handle. And she can show him for 3 more years, without getting dinged for not dubbing him. My older daughter will be showing Serama now, as she's old enough to be DQ'd for not having a dubbed OEGB. Her little OEGB showbird is now managing a large flock of LF layers, and having a great time doing it!

I think your ideas of a "Chicken Assembly" are fantastic! great job Ray!
