American serama thread!

I can't answer your question because I have the same problem with knowing what to call some of these colors. It looks like he will change a lot so probably you will need to wait and see how he develops. I'm always hoping for an interesting color in my babies but it is taking forever for them to mature and if you don't like their color, just wait a day or two and it will be different! I saw that no one had responded to your question and probably because it is too early to tell. Very pretty little guy and my favorites are the frizzles. Ask again when he is a little older.

this guy started out kind of drab and has since been changeing every week . just have patience these birds don't show there true color for at least 8 months or longer and every time they molt things can change . if your raiseing seramas you have to have time on your side .

I LOVE that pattern on his feathers. It reminds me of something.....maybe like a paisley design on satin fabric! I would love one like that.

Quick trip from KY. to CA.!! LOL I haven't even gone out to visit my daughter. She would never forgive me if I came for a chicken!!
Were they from the same hatch? I am staring holes in my young ones waiting to see how they develop. My girls just stopped laying......haven't had an egg in 4 days. Glad I hatched the 16 that I did and I do have some more in the bator but do not know for 100% if they are fertile yet. I think they are. Another day or two should tell. Getting my garage ready with some cages for the roos and I'll put all the girls together in the coop that has heat. I just love having my chickens !!
