American serama thread!

Benny is so Cool. What do you call this color? (Newbie here)

So I get a Call from the Post Office at 4:30 am today. My pair of Seramas are there! Threw on jeans and raced down the mountain. Seller said they are size D from Jerry but I do not care. These are my pets and I absolutely LOVE them both. Now Jim (seller) is on the phone checking on them. Here they are:

So, this may be a little unorthodox, but I've decided not to cull any birds for 'faults' (backs, legs, ears, etc) unless they are major faults (creeper) until I can get some more females. Currently I have 13 males and only 11 females. What I plan on doing for next year is making sure none of the birds that I breed together have the same faults, if that makes any sense. For example, I won't put 2 birds together who have long backs, just like I won't put 2 birds together who have white ears. I've only got a few that have white in their earlobes, and only 2 of my females have green legs, so it shouldn't be a problem. None of the babies I have from this year have long backs, though quite a few of my adults do, so I don't think the long back is as hard to get rid of as it seems. I'm hoping to be able to get some more females before spring, but if I can't, this is my plan.

He's nice, who'd you get him from?

Benny is getting better looking every day, I think. He was hatched in Lousiana and then came to Missouri. A special lady gave him to me to help me get my start in Seramas.

I knew Bobby was into a barred project, so I have passed him on to help Bobby out. I know that Bobby gives away a lot of birds and I felt he would appreciate Benny, so enjoy!

Hey Bobby, get a new and much better picture of him soon, my pics are not the best. He has a great chest and likes to strut.
