Gumbi, you are welcome to come to my place any time. For me, bathing a chicken is a major undertaking. I have an aversion to wet feathers. I think it goes back to when I was a kid and we used to butcher 50 at a time. It was my job to scald and pluck. yuck. I get nauseated even thinking about it.

I don't mind cleaning pens and all the other stuff, but I really have to work myself into the right frame of mind in order to give them a bath. I love how they look when they dry off, though!

I'd like to know which one of us has the "sow's ear" birds

Well, I don't know and I am sure nothing was meant. But like with anything/anyone....when showing or "performing" there are those that just got it and others that don't ...whether it be the confirmation ...or the strut...

. My birds naturally do the strut when they were out in the yard...but under showing circumstances...they just would not know. I think they would be fearful as they have never been under those circumstances.

Mine do the same thing, look beautiful in the yard but freeze on the table. The training is supposed to make them more comfortable with being 'on display'.

Do you know for a fact that these are fawn/dun? Serama have 'true' chocolate, I've not heard of any proving to have the dun gene.
