This is more of a generalized question not really about Seramas, but Seramas are what I'm using. But I wondered when breeding how you chose which hen and roo went together. Because it seems to me you can get any color out of anything. They don't really seem to breed true to any colors. Also I was curious about roosters. Can they get along or am I going to have to seperate them all? I have one rooster that gets along with my other one fine, then I have two roosters that look like they'd rip each other apart if I allowed them.

Frist off don't breed for color untill you have type dailed in type is what you want to breed for frist and formost then once you have that down you can play with color . next all roosters are different some live toghter some kill each other ! i have some that live toghter just fine and then i have some that would fight to the end so you just have to learen your birds and go from there . and when you are breeding only use your best birds and pair up birds that complment each other to work towareds a better bird . good luck .

Yes, I can breed daughter back to father, and should be fine. But they pullets are still very young, and probably won't lay anytime this year.

I would use Johnny or Showtime over the other 2 pullets if I were you, specially the mottled pullet....she carries the high large chest gene, your chance of getting quality bird out of her is higher.

I am good, sitting at home eye balling my younguns from my cocopop project to see how they turn out....at the same time, deciding who is going to be show in Nov. So far, I can see I have 7 cockerels and 3 pullets, 4 of the cockerels are going to be double laced cocopop silver duckwing (black cocopop

) like their dad. These younguns are too young to show, they will be ready for Semi-National next yr.
Dad.

From my Ultimate 5, I like these 2 best, one is a double laced cocopop silver duckwing like his dad and the youngest of the group is kind of hard to tell what he is....he has the best type of all.

I know, I need to take new pics of my flock. Glad to hear Little B is almost done with his molting, I can't wait to see how he changes. His cage mate when he was younger is almost done with molting too, he has more of the malay look then american. I have the same problem in my flock as you are.....I might have to show my pullets and hen instead of some of my cockerels and cocks.
