Chaili, where did you find the info for Small Class??? I have 2 pullets barely make the cutoff weight at 9.6 oz, I don't want to get DQ just in case they make it to the 2nd tier.

Both are 6 months old.

The accepted weight for pullets is 12 oz, plus or minus 20%. If you subtract 20% of 12 oz, you get 9.6oz
14oz for cockerels and hens,
16oz for cocks.

Same 20% up or down variance before DQ

For the undersized class, I believe they must be 1 yr old. That sticks in my head, but I can't find where I saw that. Let me get back to you on my source for the undersized class. The weights are direct from a quote by Edgar.

This has nothing to do with show weights but thought I would ask if it is OK for a 2 week old chick to weigh 1/2 oz?? I do not remember my other ones being this small. It had a rough start as it was a singleton and I had put a 3 week old serama in with it but she somehow either got stepped on or I don't know what happened but the baby could would tip over easily. I put wound med on it just in case but I actually did not see an open wound. We named it Lucky and now Lucky is all better and running around. I did get 2 of the only chicks I could find for companionship and they were a day old when I put them together. Turns out, I'm pretty sure they are white leghorns and are growing rapidly. They get along fine. Lucky sleeps in the middle of both of them on top. I have been keeping Lucky with me for periods during the day and while I am watching TV. The only thing that I am worried about is that it does not seem to be growing very much but it is getting in it's frizzled wing feathers........all white. This is the 3rd white I've gotten from my trio. The mother is a solid black frizzle. Good old Serama genetics. All of the other 16 chicks they have had are normal size. Anyone have any idea if it will catch up or do I just have a micro, micro, mini??

Here's little Lucky and his 2 leghorn buddies. Some of the photos, I just took. He will be two weeks old tomorrow and his friends are about 4 or 5 days younger.

Oh my Goodness! Thank you for posting pictures. Lucky acts like the big chicks though. They are all cute. Will be watching Lucky's progress.

Joey- I got clarification.... the undersized class has no age requirement. That comes directly from Kate.

Chicklette: I had a chick that was extra tiny, very small for what seemed like forever. She is three months old as of Tuesday, and is finally growing nicely, and is now 6 oz. I was really hoping she wouldn't be a micro, as they don't have long lifespans..... Just got off to a slow start.
