American serama thread!

So do you have the eco or the advance?

Do you turn by hand? I have seen that some people use the turning tray and just fill up all the little spaces between the bar dividers on the turning disc os I wondered if it gets crowded or you need to turn the extras by hand?
I turned them by hand as I have the eco and I dont think you can get the turner with it atleat I havent found one for it yet . I would love to get the advance with the turner , Im so over the large stryo bators

Oh gosh, Here is the best pictures I took (out of 40?) of my babies, LOL. Little wiggle curious buggers wouldn't look at the same time, and wouldn't stand up! But here is the family portrait as it is

Oh, and they have names! From left to right we have Harriet, Sirius Black, Hermione and Luna (last two based on personality rather than color, LOL)
How cute~~ So, what colors do you think those are? Harriet is pretty and Sirius is keeping his eye on you.

How often do you turn your serama eggs? I can fit way more if I turn by hand, so I wondered if I would be able to do it with such a busy schedule starting next week - externship for Vet Assistant! woo hoo haha my chickens are going to get all kinds of looked over and practiced Temp - Respiration - Pulse on lol

And...thanks to all that posted the info for the cookie tin heaters...I got all the parts and hope to make 2 this weekend. Hopefully, my second pen will enjoy them and I won't have to worry as much about bulbs blowing again....on the coldest night of the year so far....my luck.

thanks!

Good luck! I absolutely love mine! They have been great and extremely easy to make. It took me all of 2 minutes to put the drill together all the way down to placing and installing it in the coop haha. Who ever thought that up was a genius. I'm so glad I have BYC to give me those ideas rather than having to come up with things on my own LOL

I turned them 3 times a day after the second day. I let them set for 2 days in the bator shipped or not without turning just seems to work for me Im no expert though. Maybe do it when you get up do it when you get home and then when you go to bed , I dont thnk missing a turn or even a day once in awhile could hurt Im sure I forgota day at least once.
Any Idea on the color of this baby ??

Hi everyone!

I am new in here! I will be getting my very first Seramas next week!

This is the boy I will be getting! I think he is beautiful, and will be getting him either way, but what do you all think?

She said that he is from a dun line, and that I should get a black hen so I will get chocolates. Are chocolates very desirable?

What color would you pair him with?

Thanks so much!

Looking forward to learning about this beautiful breed!

That definitely makes me feel a little better. I read so many places that turning is so crucial I would feel so horrible if I missed a turn! I ordered from Castle Delight Seramas and she usually sends a couple extra so I plan on having at least one or two I will have to turn by hand and they others should all turn by the auto turner.

What are you using to video tape your hatching?
