American serama thread!

I have the heat on them. I am concerned it is too hot.. 250 watt in a 70 degree house. wondering if they needed it or maybe go to 125. 

Depends on how far away from them it is. Do you have a thermometer you can put down at their level to see what the temp is where they are?

Just don't turn them for 4 or 5 days I have had them hatch just fine.

no turn 4 or 5 days in the bator? I let the eggs sit for 48 plus hours, put them in today, large end up, and Im hand turning them slightly for 3 days, then putting them in the turner.
is this bad?

I have the light as far away as possible. I have a thermometer but i have fell this day and injured my surgery foot. the little ones seem ok . i think the big ones are hot. 1 and 1/2 quart water daily for 12 seramas

Sorry to hear that. Hope you're ok. If the bigger ones have a place to go to get away from the heat if they need to then they'll be fine. Otherwise you may need to separate them

Thanks, I will move the big ones to a different spot as soon as i can.

I bought 12 babies that will be my egg layers one day. I put them in 2 brooders and they are a week and 2 weeks old. I took the 2 older serama babies and added one to each brooder. them boys are in 7th heaven. the 2 week old are bigger then the rooster and its a funny site to see. They are in a much bigger brooder then before and have tons of space to get away from the heat if they want.
