American serama thread!

Something happened with my new chicks that may help someone else. When the chicks were three days old I noticed one staying off to the side, eyes partially closed and not moving much. The other seven chicks were running around eating and drinking. I've seen this before. After dipping the sick chick's beak in water several times the chick started to drink on its own; for a long time-then eating a bit and returning to the water dish again and again. It wasn't long before I could not tell which chick had been ill. It pays to make sure that chicks have learned to drink. All eight chicks are doing well; mom and chicks are now back with the flock and off the dining room table.

Yes it does pay to make sure that they know how to drink water. Good job.

I have a pair of seramas from the NYD hatch for sale. A smooth cockeral who appears to start to have mottling and a smooth pullet who is almost chocolate mottled. The will most likely be PQ but are sweet birds and would make good pets. PM me if any of you are interested. Local pickup only. I am in northern ca

It looks like plenty of females in my youngest generation of birds.
My 3 month olds also consist of 4 females and one male.
It will restore the balance after that prior generation of eight males!

I tried to take some video of this rat pack
I don't know if it came out any good. It takes forever to load.

A great looking bunch. I so wish I were closer to Florida...

My frizzle hen has gone broody again; 5 eggs-I'm expecting a 6th egg tomorrow.

Do we ever get tired of looking at Seramas? I think it's because of all their colors. I mean, it's not like looking at RIRs all day!

I'll put a few pictures on here in a bit....
I definitely never get tired looking at them! I can't wait until I can finally get a few of my own! I love the roos in particular, always so flashy and arrogant looking. And the variety of colors Serama comes in, so many choices!
