American serama thread!

Vet visits can't be fun.
Hoping for good health and hearty hatches.

My hens are sometimes kind of flighty when they begin setting.
After 3 or 4 days, they are locked onto that nest.

That's great! Can't wait to see what they look like!

I'll be sure to post a picture of the hen and new chicks. The first two hatched all yellow but are getting gray feathers. Two more hens have gone broody. I'll have to break them of that, or let them brood dummy eggs. I'd rather not have them start laying again until after we move to Tennessee in June. I think it best to wait to hatch any more chicks. As it is my last chicks will be just over a month old when it comes time.

Day 17 for the tribble eggs. How long is the incubation period usually? The 21 days or less?

Alfie's trio laid two eggs yesterday afternoon.
I still found an egg in the cage this morning & Gracie is back on the nest.

The birds are going directly from laying every other day to laying MORE than one a day??

I'm trying to convince some more hens to go broody.
In the meantime, I'll give 2 for 1 on up to a dozen eggs to BYC members.
Shipping is still free but you'll have to pay for 'Special Handling' if you want it.

These will be 75% from the hens Gracie & Berverly in Alfie's trio.
These hens, along with Deanna, gave me the tiny 3 month old birds including Dorothy.

How much would a dozen cost?
