I love those cages and I do not see how you could control what you breed if you do not have separate cages or small pens. Where are the fans on cages? I was thinking of having something like that set-up in my garage so that it would be weather proof. I see a lot of tarps around so I imagine if you get a torrential rain that blows, you would have to cover them. I do have windows in my garage so I could get fresh air in there and sunshine but I would only keep it for the roos and could also put them in a pen outside during the day. You did a great job on those!

yeak i don't know how they do it either my birds just don't stay still

Frist you have to sit there with them for hours on a table and feed them treats when they stand like they should . and get them use to every sound and movment that you can alot of people around is good also . once you get them bomb proof then you can take them to a table top and get them to stand and pose but you have to work at it every day . and pretty soon you will get pic's like this

I was working on coops today too!!

Here's my rooster motel.... I plan on adding some eggcartons to the walls to absorb noise, but the idea is to house my roosters in here at night, and let them out with the flock after 7am. I'm trying to cut down that 5am-7am racket that they make. I purchased some show cages from Keipper Cooping, the top one is a 4 section bantam coop, the lower one is a 2 section standard coop. The coops breakdown, and lay flat if needed. And I have room to store all my extra feed stuff above!

One more post from me.....

Well, you all know I hatched my first 4 Seramas this summer. I have not continued to hatch eggs from this pair, because I wanted to see how their offspring turned out first. Both my hen and my roo have their flaws, but I wanted to try a little test mating to see what I came up with. One of my roo's biggest flaws are pathetic sickle feathers. He's got a nice full tail, just no tall sickles! My hen has her own set of flaws, but she inherited a nice tail from her dad.

Anyhow, as I'm playing with my babies today, they are 8 weeks old exactly to the day, I notice my little roo, Carlos, is getting some really nice tall sickle feathers!!!

So hopefully these babies will have some of their parents best attributes, and not their worst.

Either way, I love 'em.
